FORE THE LADIES

I love it when I meet other golfers who share the same passion and mission for inclusion in golf. I found an instant kinship with Abby Liebenthal who founded Fore the Ladies, a non-profit organization introducing women to golf, creating inclusion and breaking down barriers.

Abby travels around hosting intro-to-golf clinics, so naturally, we hatched a plan for her to come to Portland. We planned the event for early September which happened to coincide with the local LPGA event, The Cambia Portland Classic. This made for an entire week of women’s golf, kicked off by the FTL clinic at the Oregon Golf Club. Maggie Simons, Director of Golf at OGC, former tour player, and contestant in the LPGA event that week, was our main golf instructor. We pulled volunteers from the local golf community to help run the drill stations, gave everyone a great swag bag and celebrated all things golf.
