Based on the simple notion that golf should be available to everyone at all times, Cottage Golf is on a mission to level the playing field and introduce more women to the game. By removing barriers of intimidation, our studio offers golfers of all backgrounds and levels an opportunity to approach, learn and enjoy the great game of golf.
MEET COACH KAT
Kat Gerrish Magner founded Cottage Golf Studio in 2020 with the dream of creating more inclusivity within the golf industry. Kat is a PGA Associate Professional and is committed to growing the game. By creating new ways to approach and learn golf, Kat hopes to break down barriers and invite more women into the game and industry.
An Oregon native, Kat played varsity golf at Beaverton High School and NCAA D1 golf at Santa Clara University. Before entering the PGA program, Kat enjoyed competing in amateur events around Oregon and in her former career has helped lead successful businesses and teams in marketing and manufacturing. This combined golf and corporate leadership makes Kat uniquely qualified to influence change in women’s sports.

WHY THE THISTLE?
Besides being the national emblem of Scotland, golf's birthplace, the thistle is a symbol of bravery, determination and strength. These values align with Cottage Golf's mission to dare and challenge the golf industry and open the doors to more women. Often a metaphor for inconvenience and trouble while overcoming adversity, we love being invasive, wild, beautiful thistles as we create good trouble within the game.
