Victoria Golf Club

The ocean breeze, the views, the history - what a track. Built in 1893, this is one of the oldest golf courses in Canada and North America. As a private club, you’ll need to know a member or register for a scheduled event for the opportunity to play this stunner of a course. If you do get a chance to tee it up, holes 3 through 10 may just change your life. The natural beauty of the Salish Sea set against the views of the Olympic Mountains is truly breathtaking. So much so, that one might find if difficult to focus on the golf. The course isn’t long but there are some tricky shots out there and wind is a major factor. We were lucky enough to get a repeat play day; Having just a little course knowledge made a huge difference.

Things to know:
The property is limited on space so there are a few criss-crossing holes - know where you’re going and be careful out there
There is a periscope and bell on #6 for blind shot safety - be sure to find and use them
Read up on dress code ahead of time and be sure to remove your hat in the clubhouse
The warm-up range is limited to 150 yard shots - there is a netted area with two stalls for driver warm-up if needed
If the wind picks up, don’t be afraid to adjust your club choice up or down as needed - it was a 4-club wind one afternoon
As a member club, people play fast - be courteous and keep up with the group ahead of you.
